Thorstenson Named Distinguished Alumnus of the Year

Robin Thorstenson, 2007 Leadership Bismarck-Mandan (LBM) graduate, was recently named the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year. The honor was bestowed upon Thorstenson at the LBM graduation ceremony in May by the LBM Alumni Association (LBMAA).
Thorstenson was chosen for her outstanding leadership and community service since graduating from the Leadership Program. Specifically, she puts her leadership skills to work as a board member of the Missouri Slope Areawide United Way, maintains her relationship with LBM through active involvement in LBMAA as past co-chair of an Issue Day, and serving as the LBMAA secretary. Furthermore, she participated on the LBM Restructuring Committee and co-led the Training & Development Committee with Paula Redmann.
Robin strengthens her leadership skills with every opportunity. She actively participates in Bismarck Toastmasters, joined a Masterminds group sponsored by LBMAA, and serves as a judge for FBLA state competitions.
Robin is the program manager for CETI at Bismarck State College and a soft skills trainer/facilitator. She coordinates lifelong learning programs including Enrichment, OLLI@UND in Bismarck, and Conversations at BSC.
