1. North Dakota and Morton County has been fortunate to have mostly avoided the economic stress experienced by other areas. In these uncertain times, we must continue to promote the fiscal responsibility that has allowed us to avoid the difficulties being experienced by neighboring jurisdictions.
2. I have served four years as a Morton County Commissioner. During that time, I have worked with Social Services, Elderly Services, County Planning and Zoning, Metropolitan Planning, and County Parks. I have had the opportunity to work with the various communities within Morton County. I am committed to Public Service.
3. The biggest challenge consistently for County Government is the control of county expenditures and the control of property taxes. This requires balance. There are requirements that the County must fulfill by law. There are items that the county citizens need and demand. These requirements, needs, and demands must be balanced by what county citizens can afford.
4. The biggest opportunity for Morton County right now would be energy development and tourism. Wind turbine projects have been approved and more projects may be proposed in the future. There have been pipeline projects approved and are currently under construction. Morton County contains valuable historical and recreational assets. County tourism will need further promotion.
5. Social media has had successes and shortcomings. When used appropriately, social media allows people to have easy contact with family and friends. Social media can be used for the exchange of political ideas and political theory. County government could use social media to provide the public with easy access to information.

1. The county will become more progressive, by electing leaders like myself that work the county's five cities. We need to take an aggressive stand to bring commerce back. It needs leaders who put in extra effort building a vibrant commercial/retail foundation. More business, jobs and homes bring property taxes down. Now's the time to make Morton County shine, we shouldn't have to spend our money across the county line.
2. Graduate of the Mandan/Bismarck Leadership and successful businessman. I volunteered and served on many boards: N.D March of Dimes - Past President, Abused Adult Resource Center- Past Board Member, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary- Past Commander, Boy Scouts of America- Past Leader, Experience working with BMDA, Member of Mandan Progress Organization, Owned Marina Bay, Graduate of Bismarck State College and University of Mary with degrees in Business , Finance, and Social behavior. Owner- Capital Securities Investment Firm and Farming and Ranching, married to Rebecca with four children.
3. Stopping the outflow of Morton County's tax dollars. We need leadership in promoting and building commercial, retail, and service jobs and our five cities, all need to be included and work with a common goal of building a progressive Morton County so property taxes go down!
4. Having all the citizens proudly living in a progressive County with the goods and services able to be purchased here with property taxes heading down.
5. Social media is a double-edged sword, on one hand it is very convenient and fast for getting information out, but it allows people to talk before they think, or say false and harmful messages which last on the internet forever.

1. My vision for Morton County is as follows: Slow and orderly growth, provide the necessary services that the resident of the county need and can afford, try to keep the taxes as low as possible, encourage and help new and existing businesses whenever possible.
2. I have served on the Mandan School Board, in the ND Legislative Assembly and currently am a Morton County Commissioner. I believe the experiences I have had in dealing with various issues and individuals will continue to be of great value in the future; as we work with county and city officials and citizens for the good of everyone living in Morton County.
3. Some of the challenges will be Health Insurance, wages and continued federal and state unfunded mandates.
4. The greatest opportunity for me has been and will continue to be being able to be part of the community/county that has and is willing to work together to make Morton County a place where people want to work and raise their families.
5. I feel that these media programs are ok if you have the time and use them wisely.
