Rick Berg (R)

1. We have a responsibility to leave this country in better shape than we received it. In 2003 our state was facing a budget deficit but we didn't raise taxes; instead, we tightened our belt and set out to create the best business climate in the country, and today it is. My vision is just that, to keep North Dakota moving ahead and improving. We can take what we have learned here to Washington to repeal government-run healthcare and stop runaway deficits, bailouts and borrowing. If we don't fix Washington, North Dakota cannot thrive. There is a Washington way and a North Dakota way. In North Dakota we think of the next generation, not the next election.
2. I've spent my life growing a business and creating jobs and also serving as a part-time state legislator balancing the state budget and working on issues that face North Dakotans.
3. To get the politicians in Washington to put good policy ahead of politics, overcome partisanship and get Washington to work for the people again.
4. We need to fix Washington. We need to instill confidence in the American people. This confidence, which fuels the American spirit, has time and again proven to overcome any obstacle - whether that be economic trouble or foreign menace.
5. Our campaign actively uses social media tools like Facebook to communicate with the public - It's a great way to quickly get in touch with supporters and hear from them.

1. I love North Dakota and my country, and this is a critical time in which we face great opportunities and tough challenges. We have an energy sector that is seeing exciting growth in oil, coal, wind, and biofuels. Our agriculture sector is thriving. We have a growing research industry. We have worked hard to grow a healthy economy and I believe we can continue this work to make our state an even stronger place.
2. I have strong working partnerships across our state on issues ranging from flood protection to energy development to agriculture, education, veterans and seniors. Combined with my assignments on the Ways and Means and Agriculture committees, this provides a strong platform to fight for the people of North Dakota.
3. We must stand our ground against cap and trade and other policies that would hurt our energy industry. We must deliver flood relief to the people of Fargo-Moorhead and the Devils Lake region. And we need to keep up with the extraordinary development in oil country and provide good housing and roads for families in western North Dakota. I believe these are surmountable challenges and that I am well-positioned to advocate for our state and get the job done.
4. We are seeing exciting growth in our energy, agriculture, and research industries and I will do everything I can to ensure that continues.
5. Social media has a growing role in our daily lives, and I believe it plays an increasingly important role in communicating with my constituents.
